From Problem-Solving to Purpose-Fulfilling

We deconstruct outdated systems to make space for what's next. Not optimizing within constraints, challenging the constraints themselves.

Two shifts worth a look today: design intent is becoming a written, linkable artifact that agents consult, and a new device class puts a dated requirement on mobile release calendars. Two older items are included and dated as such.

AI in design Phase 03 / Intelligence-Centered Redesign TechCrunch, 14 Oct 2026

Figma adds Specs and shared context for agents

At its Config event in India, Figma described a Markdown-based editor called Specs where teams record their design language, linkable to canvas elements and embedded diagrams or code layers. Teams can also register design libraries, code libraries and guidelines as shared context that Figma's agent and third-party agents consult. Code layers entered public beta, and more than 20 further tools were connected through Figma's MCP.

Why it mattersReported fact: the rules move from tribal knowledge into a written, referenceable form. Our reading: whoever owns that text now owns how agents behave. Figma itself says AI output is non-deterministic, so expect steering, not guarantees. Pricing and Specs rollout timing were not stated.

Mobile platform Phase 04 / Adaptive Implementation Apple Developer News (5 Oct) and MacTrast (Oct 2026)

iPhone Duo submissions open ahead of 23 October deliveries

Apple has approved developers to submit apps for its first foldable iPhone, with pre-orders opening 16 October at 8 a.m. ET and deliveries from 23 October. Apps need a rebuild with Xcode 27.1, and Apple points to a Device Hub tool for testing across the device's poses. From April 2027, submissions must include iPhone Duo screenshots.

Why it mattersReported fact: a dated store requirement and a launch date. Our reading: layout and state handling across two screen sizes is a quality risk that is cheap to test now and costly to find after launch day.

Standards (older item) Phase 02 / Strategic Deconstruction W3C WAI news, 10 and 25 Sep 2026

WCAG 3 working draft is open for review, with conformance model questions

W3C published a new WCAG 3 working draft on 10 September that asks reviewers about how conformance should work, and the WAI director posted on 25 September about the goals and challenges of the effort. This is not new today and I read only the news listing, not the draft itself.

Why it mattersWCAG 2.x remains the practical reference. Treat WCAG 3 as direction of travel, not a compliance target, and expect the conformance model to keep changing.

Service design (opinion) Phase 03 / Intelligence-Centered Redesign UX Magazine, Oct 2026

The service blueprint as something an agent can execute

A UX Magazine piece by Ben Reason treats the blueprint like a system prompt, and a companion podcast episode frames it as a plan a person approves and an AI agent carries out. The articles in the list were mostly undated, so the timing here is approximate.

Why it mattersThis is commentary, not evidence of practice. It is useful as a prompt to ask whether your journey artifacts are specific enough to hand to anyone, human or software.

Release cadence Phase 04 / Adaptive Implementation Apple Developer News, 5 Oct 2026

Make the April 2027 screenshot rule a named release dependency

A store requirement with a known date is easy to lose between product, design and QA. One director-level owner, a short checklist for foldable layout states and a slot in the release calendar covers it.

Why it's relevantDelegation point: ask the director for an owner and a date, not a status update. Open question to settle: which foldable states count as release-blocking.
