From Problem-Solving to Purpose-Fulfilling

We deconstruct outdated systems to make space for what's next. Not optimizing within constraints, challenging the constraints themselves.

A short account of how this is made, because a publication arguing for honest systems should be legible about its own.

A short account of how this is made, because a publication arguing for honest systems should be legible about its own.

Use of AI

  • The ideas, claims, arguments and conclusions are Bruno's. The drafting of the argument is not delegated.
  • AI assists with research, structure, editing, and building the diagrams and this website.
  • Every factual claim and quotation is verified by a human before it is published.
  • Statistics are dated, and vendor or self-reported figures are labelled as such.
  • Where the evidence is thin, the piece says so rather than rounding up to confidence.

How the site works

The magazine is generated from structured source files and published as static HTML. The daily, weekly and monthly editions are researched and assembled on a schedule, then reviewed before anything is sent. The archive keeps every issue.

Disclosure

Bruno Monteiro writes Un-Design in a personal capacity. The views here are his own and do not represent any employer, client or institution. Where a piece touches a company, vendor or market he has a working relationship with, that relationship is stated in the piece itself.

Corrections

Corrections are made in place and noted at the foot of the piece, with the date. If something here is wrong, say so and it gets fixed rather than quietly edited.

Un—DesignFrom Problem-Solving to Purpose-Fulfilling. A framework in four phases: 01 Systemic Discovery / 02 Strategic Deconstruction / 03 Intelligence-Centered Redesign / 04 Adaptive Implementation.

The archiveNothing gets deleted. The phase counts run across every issue, so the framework works as the index.

The magazine is the week's reading. The essays are the longer argument: what the pattern turned out to mean, written up properly. Free, no schedule, sent when there is something worth saying.
